Overview

BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Manager to join our team, supporting AFCEC onsite at Tyndall, AFB, Panama City, FL.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administration support of construction contracts
  • Review and make recommendations on submittals
  • Review and make recommendations on test results and reports
  • Review and make recommendations on performance/status reports
  • Review and make recommendations on requests for progress payments
  • Review and provide recommendations on recovery plans
  • Review and comment on inspections of on-going and completed construction to ensure compliance with applicable drawings, specifications, codes, criteria, and contract requirements
  • If the inspection identifies non-compliance items, submit a written report identifying recommended corrective actions to the COR within 24 hours after completion of an inspection
  • If non-compliant items are life, safety, and health non-compliance issues, immediately verbally notify the COR and submit a written report identifying recommended corrective actions to the COR within 24 hours after completion of the inspection; if a verbal notification was made, include the name of the COR and the date/time of the verbal notification in the written report
  • Coordinate with the supporting Wing and construction contractors for scheduling and execution of O&M training as applicable
  • Provide assistance to actively manage cost growth of project resulting from user requested changes
  • Review and make recommendations on construction submittals for compliance with applicable design specifications
Requirements
Key Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship and theability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC is required
  • Ability to effectively operating as a member of an Engineering or joint discipline planning team
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Software: Proficiency using MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously
Experience & Education
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of directly applicable work experience is required
  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (preferably in Science) from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited college or university is required
Physical Requirements And Work Environment
  • Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to: stand/walk/kneel/crouch and to remain in a stationary position at least 60% of the time; operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; lift up to 50 lbs.; speak clearly so listeners can understand; understand the speech of another person; talk or hear both in person and by telephone; see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
  • Work Environment: Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions; occasionally required to navigate rough terrain, work in confined spaces, and operate at heights
  • PPE & Safety: Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary; may encounter hazards or contaminants during work tasks
