Job summary

Circle K is seeking a Facilities Manager in Tempe, AZ to drive financial objectives and oversee construction-related activities. You will help select contractors, prepare budgets, monitor costs, and review invoices, while ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and at least five years of experience with two years in management. Strong MS Office skills are desirable for daily planning and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Five years of experience or more preferred; including minimum of two years of management responsibility.
  • Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves financial objectives by assisting with selecting and bidding to qualified contractors; anticipating requirements, submitting information for budget preparation; scheduling expenditures; monitoring costs; analyzing variances; writing purchase orders, reviewing and approving invoices.
  • Assures company quality control expectations are met by completing pre-construction, interim, and final inspections including a detailed punch-list(s) at completion of projects.
  • Complies with legal and company requirements by enforcing building codes, following company systems, policies and procedures, maintaining safe and healthy work practices, and monitoring pre-construction and closing inspections, including completion of a detailed punch-list at completion of projects.
  • Improves efficiency of construction process by evaluating construction documents, policies and procedures; and, by recommending and implementing best practice and cost optimization revisions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as deemed necessary by Facilities Director.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Allocates program costs by preparing operational and risk reports for analyses.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting and orienting employees.
  • Maintains staff job results by training coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
