Job summary

7-Eleven is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee multiple store projects from inception to completion. You will coordinate with senior leaders, engineers, architects, and vendors to ensure safety, quality, cost and schedule KPIs are met.

Strong project management and regulatory coordination are essential. The role is remote with upwards travel across North America; a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, with opportunities to lead permitting and bid processes throughout

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of multiple construction projects from inception to completion.
• Review project updates and KPIs including safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
• Direct general contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors to satisfy contract requirements.
• Coordinate with environmental consultants to ensure compliance with laws.
• Develop project plans: charter, schedule, responsibilities, risk and comms plans.
• Lead permitting and regulatory interactions; manage bid processes and contractor selection.
• Provide field oversight through commissioning, turnover, and closeout.

You’ll start by reviewing project updates and progress reports, ensuring Key Performance Indicators like safety, quality, cost, and schedule are on track. A large part of your day will be spent engaging with stakeholders—including internal Sr Leaders and Operations, contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and regulatory bodies—providing clear and concise updates while facilitating effective decision-making. **Primary Accountabilities:*** All aspects of construction projects, from project inception to final completion.* Provide timely, concise, and transparent communications to operations and all stakeholders.* Direct general contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors to complete construction projects while satisfying contract requirements.* Cooperate with 7-Eleven’s Environmental consultant to ensure all federal, state, and local laws are being followed.* Assess project performance through Key Performance Indicators for safety, quality, cost, and schedule.* Ability to create project plans, including but not limited to a project charter, schedule, responsibility matrix, risk management plan, communication management plan, and stakeholder register.* Facilitate site survey, due diligence of conditions, and prepare scope of work. Financial accountability inclusive of estimates, budget development, change orders, invoice review, and project closeout.* Spearhead the design review ensuring accuracy against defined scope and specifications for approvals.* Lead permitting and assist in negotiations with appropriate regulatory bodies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) as required.* Direct the bid management process and make recommendations regarding contractor selection.* Provides field oversight and direction during the execution phase from preconstruction through issue of final required inspections and occupancy.* Develop site-specific, accurate equipment take-offs and orders for each project.* Accountable for regular reporting including percent of completion, estimated date of turnover to operations, actual costs, and cost forecasts.* Ensure that vendors deliver work to meet duration and quality targets, addressing and ensuring the correction of under-performance issues.* Accountable to minimize, record and oversee completion of all project deficiencies in a timely manner.* Cultivate a culture of safety in accordance with department guidelines.* Hand over projects to stakeholders after successful completion of commissioning protocols.* The role is remote and will include upwards of 50% travel regionally, with the potential of traveling to all North America locations based on the business needs **What will set you apart:*** Operational experience in c-store, fueling, or quick service restaurant* Understanding of accessibility and life safety laws and how they apply* Expertise in installing and maintaining retail (UST) fueling systems* Working knowledge of refrigeration equipment, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems* Additional certifications or education applicable to this role **Key Qualifications*** Construction and project management experience* Bachelor's Degree* Alternatively: High School diploma/GED with equivalent experience or 4 + years of US military experience **Benefits Summary** 7-Eleven offers a full range of benefits.
