Job summary

Hamilton Roofing in Florida seeks a Roofing Construction Manager to plan, monitor and control every stage of roofing installations or repairs on assigned properties, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with safe work conditions. They work closely with the COO/Superintendent to ensure job progress as planned.

Responsibilities include reviewing contracts, ensuring drawings and specs are in place, managing change orders, scheduling with the team, and coordinating with clients and subcontractors

Qualifications

  • Experienced with roofing types including BUR, Shingles, Tile, single ply and metal.
  • Proficient in MS Office; especially MS Project.
  • Ability to write specifications and contracts.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews all contracts, comparing with proposal and estimate and flag discrepancies.
  • Ensures CAD Shop has drawings and specifications and understands priority.
  • Reviews and approves shop drawings and submittals; review wind uplift requirements.
  • Ensures warranties, permits, and contract execution before materials are released for on-site work.
  • Prepares Superintendent file and plans with field staff prior to starting work.
  • Orders materials per contract documents; obtain 2–3 quotes prior to purchasing.
  • Schedules pre-planning with Superintendent and Scheduler two to four weeks before start.
  • Coordinates work schedules with clients and subcontractors; keeps Scheduling informed of changes.
  • Maintains job site records: daily reports, weather, delay requests, as-built information.
  • Resolves problems; attends project meetings.
  • Prepares estimates for minor change orders; supports estimators for major ones.
  • Ensures inspections are called in and performed.
  • Completes close-out documents and sends to clients.
  • Prepares and submits monthly billings to Accounts Receivable as per contract.

Job description

They complete projects on time and within budget, while ensuring that roofing teams work in safe conditions. They work closely with the COO/Superintendent to ensure job is progressing as planned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • None, however, they may provide direction.
    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Reviews all contracts, comparing it with the proposal and estimate and flag discrepancies.
    • Ensures CAD Shop has Drawings and specifications and understands priority.
    • Reviews and approves shop drawings and submittals and make any recommendations for changes. Particularly review wind uplift requirements.

    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Experienced with all Microsoft Office Products, particularly MS Project.
    • Ability to write specifications and contracts.
    • Extensive knowledge of roofing, including BUR, Shingles, Tile, single ply, metal.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    Education and Experience:
    • Minimum requirements: must be a High School graduate with seven years working in positions of higher responsibility and identified aptitude or have a college degree in any construction or engineering field and three years on the job experience.
    • Must speak, read, and write in English, Spanish language a plus.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Able to climb ladders or stairs to reach roofing job sites.
    • Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 35 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Able to withstand loud noises.
    • Understanding of the risk of airborne particles of asbestos or dust.
    • Understanding of the risk of electrical shock from improper procedures.
    • Must wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hearing protection while on the job site.
