Job summary

Davenergy Solutions is seeking a civil/construction manager for an on-site role in Grand Junction, CO, supporting VA Western Colorado Health Care System project with Planate Management Group. You will lead construction oversight, quality control, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with designs, codes, and schedules.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree and 3+ years in healthcare construction management, with strong English communication and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil or equivalent experience related to job duties and functions.
Three (3) or more years of civil/construction management work experience, preferably in healthcare facilities.
Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs is a plus.
Knowledgeable in construction scheduling methods and building crafts.
Good English communication, written and oral.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and mentorship in completing construction work and documentation of quality.
Monitor construction means/methods and supervise contractor to ensure safety, quality, and contract compliance.
Review contractor submittals for compliance and provide guidance or approval.
Perform field inspections to assess workmanship and material quality.
Ensure compliance with design, specs, standards, and applicable codes/regulations.
Identify and track deficiencies and coordinate mitigation with the construction team.
Review and implement safety and quality programs and health, safety, and environment regulations.
Provide constructability input and oversee related design/engineering disciplines.
Visit project sites and develop recommendations during project development.
Support procurement package development for design and construction.

Davenergy Solutions, partnering with Planate Management Group (PMG), has been tasked with providing engineering and construction management support for the VA Western Colorado Health Care System. The work assignment will be on-site in Grand Junction, CO.

Requirements

Provide leadership and mentorship in the completion of construction work and the documentation and inspection of construction quality
Monitor the means and methods of the construction contractor, providing oversight and direction to ensure compliance with contractual, safety and quality requirements
Review contractor submittals for compliance, provides approval and/ or guidance to the government
Perform field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used and verify quality of workmanship,
Ensure compliance with the design, specifications, standards and applicable codes and regulations;
Identify and track deficiencies and deviations from plans; works with construction team to mitigate and resolve
Review and implement construction safety and quality programs, ensure regulations on health, safety and the environment (HSE)
Review project plans and specifications for technical soundness and determine practicability from a construction management standpoint
Provide design input and oversight related to constructability and other engineering disciplines
Visit project sites to obtain information on facility/site conditions and develop recommendations during project development
Support the development of procurement packages for design and construction
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Education/Experience

Degree in Civil or equivalent experience related to job duties and functions.
Three (3) or more years of civil/construction management work experience preferably gained from healthcare or hospital facilities.
Previous experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs is an advantage.
Knowledgeable in construction scheduling methods and of building and construction crafts.
Good English communication both written and oral.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office suites.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to see, hear, walk, drive, climb, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be prepared to encounter all construction site conditions, including noise, dust, heights, odors, and enclosed spaces, and be physically capable of traversing sites with unstable footing, stairs, rough terrain, adverse weather, ladders, roofs, and other mobility-challenging conditions. Must possess the physical ability to take measurements, perform tests comparing in-place work to contract requirements, and observe work activities throughout the course of construction.
