Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Owner’s Representative for onsite hydroelectric construction activities
  • Oversee contractors performing work on hydroelectric units
  • Coordinate between plant personnel, project leadership, and contractors
  • Monitor contractor safety, quality, schedule, and project requirements
  • Perform daily field observations and monitor construction progress
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, work plans, RFIs, and project documentation
  • Coordinate construction activities with plant personnel and other disciplines
  • Participate in construction meetings and ensure action items are completed
  • Identify construction issues and support timely resolution
  • Perform quality-control oversight and verify work is completed correctly
  • Prepare reports and communicate construction progress, risks, and field conditions
  • Support inspections, testing, turnover, and project closeout

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Hydro Construction Manager to support an active hydroelectric project near Georgetown, Colorado.

This position will oversee onsite construction activities and serve as the primary liaison between the plant, project leadership, and contractors to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely project execution.

Location / Schedule
  • Onsite near Georgetown, Colorado
  • 10–12-hour workdays
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Owner’s Representative for onsite hydroelectric construction activities
  • Oversee contractors performing work on hydroelectric units
  • Coordinate between plant personnel, project leadership, and contractors
  • Monitor contractor compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and project requirements
  • Perform daily field observations and monitor construction progress
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, work plans, RFIs, and project documentation
  • Coordinate construction activities with plant personnel and other disciplines
  • Participate in construction meetings and ensure action items are completed
  • Identify construction issues and support timely resolution
  • Perform quality-control oversight and verify work is completed correctly
  • Prepare reports and communicate construction progress, risks, and field conditions
  • Support inspections, testing, turnover, and project closeout
Required Experience
  • Previous experience working directly with hydroelectric generating units
  • Previous Construction Manager, Construction Superintendent, or comparable field‑oversight experience
  • Strong understanding of hydro‑unit construction, assembly, maintenance, or overhaul activities
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Strong contractor‑oversight, safety, and quality‑control experience
  • Owner’s representative experience strongly preferred
  • Experience overseeing major contractors or equipment manufacturers preferred
  • Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and field problem‑solving skills

College degree not required; candidates with strong hydroelectric, mechanical-trade, and field‑construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply
