Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily construction activities involving subcontractors, vendors, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee construction of water and wastewater facilities across civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Manage project schedules, monitor progress, identify risks, and help resolve delays.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, invoices, and change orders to support execution.
  • Ensure field activities comply with project requirements, safety standards, and codes.
  • Coordinate between contractors, clients, vendors, and project teams to resolve field issues.
  • Support startup, commissioning, training, and turnover activities for successful delivery.
  • Coordinate project closeout: as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and final acceptance.

About the Opportunity

Join a team delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout California's Central Valley. We're seeking a hands-on Construction Manager to lead field construction activities, coordinate contractors and project teams, and support projects from construction through startup, commissioning, and closeout.

This role is ideal for professionals with water or wastewater treatment plant construction experience who enjoy solving field challenges, leading construction execution, and delivering complex infrastructure projects safely, on schedule, and to high quality standards.

Projects include the construction and expansion of critical municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities serving communities throughout the region.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate daily construction activities involving subcontractors, vendors, engineers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems.

  • Support startup, commissioning, training, and system turnover activities to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, turnover documentation, and final system acceptance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting water or wastewater treatment construction projects.
  • Knowledge of water and/or wastewater treatment plant construction and installation practices.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: process mechanical systems, civil construction, electrical systems, instrumentation, or controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and construction safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant construction experience.
  • Experience with wastewater treatment plant startup, commissioning, and system turnover.
  • Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software.
Additional Information
  • This is primarily a field-based position on active construction sites and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Candidates must be able to conduct routine site walks and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attendance, reliability, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
