Job description

This role supports a leading telecommunications infrastructure program focused on next-generation network (NGAN) deployment, including fiber, coax, and node segmentation. The position is field-based, requiring hands‑on oversight of both aerial and underground construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with all applicable standards. This is a dynamic role requiring flexibility in schedule, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee execution of aerial and underground construction activities, including:
  • Placement of hardline coax and fiber infrastructure
  • Framing and installation of strand and poles
  • Transfer of facilities between poles
  • Joint trench construction and placement
  • Safe operation of construction vehicles and equipment trailers
  • Act as the primary field interface between contractors and internal teams, serving as liaison to regional network technicians
  • Ensure new or upgraded power supplies are installed, tested, and fully operational prior to cutover
  • Maintain overall responsibility for NGAN build quality, from contractor construction through final handoff to operations
  • Perform quality control (QC) on job documentation, including JT/Polaris entries and route/path verification
  • Monitor contractor performance against established goals, timelines, and quality standards
  • Track and maintain accurate records for:
    • Project start and milestone dates
    • Material usage and costs
    • Labor expenditures
  • Generate and maintain reports related to construction progress, materials, and financials
  • Review, resolve, and follow up on customer requests and complaints
Leadership & Coordination
  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities of construction crews, technical staff, and support personnel
  • Set team priorities, assign tasks, and perform regular quality and progress checks
  • Support specialists and leadership with project coordination and execution
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds company, local, state, and federal standards and regulations
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce worksite safety standards and best practices
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance
  • Lead and participate in safety meetings with field crews
Work Environment & Expectations
  • Field-based role with approximately 90% of time spent in the field
  • Requires regular, consistent, and punctual attendance
  • Must be able to work variable schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime
