Job summary

Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is seeking a Construction Management Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience across multiple construction projects. The 10-week internship provides formal training and opportunities to translate classroom knowledge into real-world skills.

Interns will support project engineers and managers, assist with Procore setup, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and scheduling, and participate in job walks, takeoffs, and field-site documentation.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
• Self-driven, motivated and able to work within a team and independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; able to perform under pressure.

• Assist with setting up projects in Procore.
• Review submittals, import estimates and set up subcontracts.
• Assist with RFIs, change orders, scheduling, specifications, and monthly projections.

• Communicate with subcontractors to develop bid interest and quantity takeoffs.
• Document job site progress, take photos in Procore, attend weekly meetings, and track schedules.

Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is currently looking for a Construction Management Intern – Summer 2027 who will thrive in our company.

During our 10-week internship, we will provide you with training and experience working on active construction projects that will help translate your classroom knowledge into real world skills. We strive to expose our Interns to several phases of construction management by giving them the opportunity to support various projects and teams within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Apply the knowledge you have acquired in the classroom setting to active commercial construction projects.
• Project Management:
  • Provide support to Project Engineers and Project Managers.
  • Assist with setting up projects in Procore.
  • Review submittals, import estimates and set up subcontracts.
  • Assist with request for information (RFI), change orders, scheduling, specifications, and monthly projections.
• Preconstruction & Estimating:
  • Assist with reviewing plans and put together bid packages.
  • Attend and participate in “job walks”.
  • Communicate with subcontractors to develop bid interest in our construction projects.
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs.
• Field Office Operations:
  • Document job site project progress, take and upload photos into Procore.
  • Attend weekly meetings with project owner’s and architects.
  • Communicate with subcontractors to track job schedules.
  • Assist with project close out preparations and punch list coordination.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field of study.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
• Must be self-driven, motivated and possess the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Baldwin & Shell standards and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Junior or Senior level Construction Management student.
