Job summary

Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is seeking a Construction Management Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience on active commercial construction projects. You will work with our project teams to translate classroom knowledge into real-world skills and be exposed to several phases of construction management.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
• Self-driven, motivated and able to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Apply classroom knowledge to active commercial construction projects.
• Provide support to Project Engineers and Project Managers.
• Assist with setting up projects in Procore.
• Review submittals, import estimates and set up subcontracts.
• Assist with RFIs, change orders, scheduling, specifications, and monthly projections.
• Assist with reviewing plans and assembling bid packages.
• Attend job walks and communicate with subcontractors to develop bid interest.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs.
• Document job site progress and upload photos into Procore.
• Attend weekly meetings with project owners and architects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to track schedules.
• Assist with project close out preparations and punch list coordination.

Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is currently looking for a Construction Management Intern – Summer 2027 who will thrive in our company.

During our 10‑week internship, we will provide you with training and experience working on active construction projects that will help translate your classroom knowledge into real world skills. We strive to expose our Interns to several phases of construction management by giving them the opportunity to support various projects and teams within the company.

Responsibilities

• Apply the knowledge you have acquired in the classroom setting to active commercial construction projects.


• Project Management:
  
  
  
  • Provide support to Project Engineers and Project Managers.
  
  
  • Assist with setting up projects in Procore.
  
  
  • Review submittals, import estimates and set up subcontracts.
  
  
  • Assist with request for information (RFI), change orders, scheduling, specifications, and monthly projections.
  
  
  
  


• Preconstruction & Estimating:
  
  
  
  • Assist with reviewing plans and put together bid packages.
  
  
  • Attend and participate in “job walks”.
  
  
  • Communicate with subcontractors to develop bid interest in our construction projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field of study.

• Must be self-driven, motivated and possess the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.


• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to perform under pressure.


• Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Baldwin & Shell standards and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Junior or Senior level Construction Management student.
