Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction in Los Angeles is offering an Intern/Coop for the CMST program for rising juniors and seniors. The role provides hands-on exposure to project management, estimating, and field operations, working with established teams to learn the industry and Shawmut culture.

Interns will assist in day-to-day PM activities, track submittals and RFIs, help with budgets and bids, and support field teams on local projects while observing site safety and quality controls.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• No specific major required, but these are the most relevant areas.
• Internship is for summer 2027 in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Management, Estimating or Field work as needed by the business.
• Assist in day-to-day Project Management activities to help ensure projects are on time and on budget; manage submittals and RFIs.
• Work with Estimating/Preconstruction to develop estimates and assist in bid reviews with internal partners.
• As a Field intern, collaborate with a seasoned Superintendent on local job sites; help manage daily reports and coordinate safety and punch list activities.
