Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and work ethic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team‑oriented and self‑motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with field inspections, measurements, testing, and data collection, gaining hands‑on experience with construction field activities.
  • Supports review and organization of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Helps prepare meeting notes, technical memoranda, reports, and project status updates.
  • Assists with material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and vendor pricing requests, providing exposure to estimating and procurement processes.
  • Supports schedule and budget tracking and contributes to project documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Assists with bid‑related documentation, construction administration tasks, and project closeout activities.
  • Coordinates with project staff, consultants, and contractors as needed to support project delivery.

Ardurra is seeking a Construction Management & Inspection Intern to join our team in Houston, TX.

Primary Function

The Construction Management Intern supports construction administration and field activities for infrastructure projects of varying size and complexity. Under general supervision, this role assists Senior Field Representatives and project team members with field observations, document control, cost and schedule tracking, and coordination tasks. The position provides practical exposure to construction management, project delivery methods, and contract compliance while contributing to project objectives and developing technical, organizational, and communication skills.

Primary Duties
  • Assists with field inspections, measurements, testing, and data collection, gaining hands‑on experience with construction field activities.
  • Supports review and organization of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Helps prepare meeting notes, technical memoranda, reports, and project status updates.

  • Knowledge of prioritization and adaptability techniques, with the ability to adjust to changing field conditions and apply solution-focused thinking.

Education, Certification And Experience Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

Work is conducted in both office and field environments. Field activities may involve exposure to active construction sites, varying weather conditions, and moderate physical activity, including walking on uneven surfaces and handling equipment. Office tasks primarily involve working at a computer workstation with minimal physical hazards.
