Job summary

DN Tanks is seeking a Construction Co-op Student in Wakefield, MA to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering and construction. You will work with a dedicated mentor, contribute to real projects, and learn the lifecycle of heavy‑civil construction from conception to completion.

Identify concrete suppliers, develop mix designs with AutoCAD site layouts, coordinate with subcontractors, and perform pre‑pour inspections.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program; Civil Engineering concentration preferred.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
• Ability to problem-solve in individual and team settings.
• Transportation to Wakefield, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Identify local concrete suppliers and prepare pre-bid/post-bid pricing for concrete/shotcrete mixes.
• Work with concrete suppliers to develop and trial batch concrete/shotcrete mix designs. Assist Project Engineers with the preparation of detailed project submittals.
• Develop AutoCAD site layout drawings showing cut/fill slopes, ramps, work roads, crane positions, and casting bed locations.
• Coordinate with site work, rebar, crane, and concrete subcontractors.
• Perform jobsite pre-pour inspections with Project Engineers and Project Managers prior to concrete placements.
• Opportunity to visit construction sites during precast panel erection.
• Transportation to Wakefield, Massachusetts.
