Job summary

Jobot seeks a detail-oriented Construction Paralegal to support attorneys handling complex construction defect and litigation matters for developers, owners, contractors, design professionals, and insurers.

The ideal candidate will have a paralegal certificate, 3+ years in litigation, strong knowledge of Florida civil procedure, proficiency with MS Office and case management systems, and experience coordinating with experts, inspections, and trial preparations.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in construction.
• Strong knowledge of Florida civil procedure and litigation support.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
• Experience with e-discovery platforms is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, time-management and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience supporting construction defect or multi-party litigation.
• Familiarity with construction documents (contracts, plans, specs).
• Trial or arbitration support experience.
• Experience working with experts such as engineers or architects.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive litigation support in construction defect and construction-related matters.
• Draft and assist with pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
• Manage document production, review, and organization, including electronically stored information
• Assist with preparing case chronologies, factual summaries, and damages analyses
• Coordinate inspections, expert involvement, deposition scheduling, mediations, and hearings
• Maintain case files, deadlines, and calendars in compliance with court and firm requirements
• Cite-check and assemble motions, exhibits, and trial binders
• Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed
• Support attorneys during mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
• Assist with compliance related to Florida construction defect statutes, notices, and procedures
