Job summary

Cole, Scott & Kissane P.A., Florida’s largest full‑service civil litigation firm, is seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal for its Tampa office.

Qualified candidates must be a Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) or Certified Paralegal (CP), or hold an ABA‑approved paralegal degree or certificate, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant paralegal experience in insurance defense and Florida construction disputes.

Qualifications

  • Requires 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience in Florida construction disputes.
  • FRP or CP designation or ABA-approved paralegal credential required.
  • Experience with insurance defense preferred; trial experience a plus.
  • Billing experience with contemporaneous time entry required.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in case management from inception through trial.
  • Organize, analyze, and review court documents and case materials.
  • Coordinate discovery and prepare related responses and documentation.
  • Conduct legal research as needed.
  • Prepare subpoenas, exhibits, trial binders, and other pre-trial materials.
  • Enter billable time accurately on a daily basis.

Job description

Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A., Florida’s largest full‑service civil litigation firm, continues to grow and is currently seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal for its Tampa office.

Qualified candidates must be a Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) or Certified Paralegal (CP), or hold a paralegal degree or certificate from an ABA‑approved program. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant paralegal experience, with a strong background in insurance defense litigation and Florida construction disputes. Ideal applicants will be knowledgeable in all phases of Florida Construction defect claims, torts, contractual issues, and other construction‑related matters. Trial experience is a plus. Prior billing experience is preferred; all candidates must bill their time contemporaneously in accordance with firm and client billing guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and e‑filing procedures
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
