Job summary

CMC seeks an experienced attorney to lead construction litigation and related commercial matters. You will manage disputes, coordinate with risk and outside counsel, and advise internal teams on contract terms while ensuring confidentiality.

The role requires a JD and 5–7 years of construction litigation experience, with strong knowledge of applicable laws and regula-tions. This is a full-time position based in Irving, TX, offering career growth and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and negotiate legal documents.
  • Experience working with Legal, Audit and compliance staff.
  • Knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage CMC’s litigation docket, including construction disputes and commercial matters.
  • Coordinate with risk management/insurance carriers; select outside counsel; set litigation strategy and budgets.
  • Partner with business teams to identify disputes early and advise on contract terms; manage holds and report status to leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all company matters, including personnel actions and legal actions.
  • Ensure compliance with building and safety codes, inspections, and local/state regulations for projects.
  • Communicate and manage tasks with clients across business areas regarding legal issues.
