Hunterlex seeks a Construction Associate Attorney in Florida with 3–8 years of litigation experience for a hybrid full-time role. The attorney will handle a balanced caseload: 90% construction litigation and 10% business litigation, with focus on liens, bonds, and defect claims.

The role requires a Florida license and strong research, writing, and analytical skills. Responsibilities include discovery, pleadings, and client communication, with a billed target of 130 hours per month.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Florida Bar license.
• Minimum of 3-8 years litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience handling matters involving liens, bonds, and construction defect claims.
• Trial experience and familiarity with insurance defense procedures preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsabilités

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution, including motion practice, hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Handle construction defect litigation, lien and bond disputes, delay claims, scope of work disputes, and breach of contract cases.
• Counsel clients on Florida Construction Lien Law, Chapter 713, and applicable performance/payment bond regulations.
• Conduct and manage all aspects of discovery including e-discovery, expert retention and depositions.
• Draft legal pleadings, substantive motions, mediation statements, and settlement agreements.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with clients and opposing counsel.
• Billable Target: 130 hours/month
