About This Role

As a line worker in the Kinetic construction and engineering organization, you will install, repair, and maintain poles, cables, and conduits; install aerial and buried cables with associated hardware to build jobs; and run fiber optic and copper cable, both aerial and underground.

This role involves maintaining crew safety, attending safety meetings, inventory management, operating heavy machinery, and routine maintenance. It requires work on weekends, holidays, standby, unscheduled hours, and overtime, with travel over 50% possibly required. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain poles; use electronic test equipment; interpret blueprints.
• Install and inspect aerial cables, analyze test results, locate faults.
• Set up customer services, install, connect, test, or adjust equipment.
• Access areas for line stringing or installing equipment using trucks, climbing poles, or entering tunnels and trenches.
• String and tension cables, pull cables from reels, lay underground cables, and perform related tasks following industry standards.
• Follow design instructions, maintain scope of work, and adhere to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate construction equipment like digger derricks, bucket trucks, etc.
• Pole climbing certification.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
• Work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, heights.
• Availability for on-call, days/nights, weekends, holidays, overtime.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to pass DOT certification, travel up to 50%.
• Excellent time-management and paperwork skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10-hour safety course, Buck Squeeze, proficiency with construction equipment.
