Job summary

Kent Companies in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a diligent construction laborer to support field teams on commercial projects. You will operate tools, assist with underlayment installations, and help maintain safety and quality on site.

This full-time role requires physical stamina, willingness to travel to various job sites, and the ability to read plans and follow directions from foremen. We offer weekly pay, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass drug screening.
• Must have reliable transportation to workplace(es).
• Provide personal gear such as steel-toe boots and hand tools.
• Commercial construction experience, particularly gypsum underlayments.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to pass a background check related to driving.
• Training and consistent experience in underlayments, leveling, and leadership.
• OSHA 10
• Valid MDOT MED card or ability to obtain an MDOT MED card within agreed upon timeframe.
• Ability to work nontypical days and hours on construction schedules.

Responsibilities

• Wear PPE and follow safety protocols on site.
• Perform general labor tasks on commercial construction sites with tools.
• Install and maintain fall protection and barricades as needed.
• Locate materials and equipment onsite and utilize them efficiently.
• Read take-off sheets and prints to perform each job to specifications.
• Coordinate with foreman/superintendent to meet daily production and quality goals.
