Position Summary

Construction Skilled Laborers (with CDL) perform tasks involving physical labor at heavy construction projects. Responsibilities include operating construction equipment, cleaning and preparing job sites, digging trenches, setting braces for excavations, and removing debris. The role involves various miscellaneous tasks related to the heavy construction of underground utilities.

  • Execute daily plans and labor tasks
  • Support various construction tasks
  • Operate small equipment
  • Maintain job site cleanup
  • Operate as a CDL driver
Essential Job Functions
  • Participate in all phases of underground construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, and material handling
  • Work as part of a crew; drive trucks to job sites for utility operations
  • Assist with manual labor tasks as directed by the Foreman
  • Operate construction equipment
  • Perform physically demanding duties
  • Assist in placing underground conduit and related manual tasks
  • Load and unload equipment such as backhoes, excavators, loaders, etc.
Skills and Abilities
  • Pass drug screening and background checks
  • Follow instructions effectively
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Experience in construction, especially underground work, preferred
  • Follow DOT and company requirements, including inspections and logs
  • Possess a current medical DOT card
  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Willing to work long hours
  • Reliable transportation
Education and Experience
  • Valid Class A CDL Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass CDL tanker endorsement
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Ability to perform manual labor and work in confined spaces and severe weather
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Experience in underground dry utility installation is a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
