Sequoia Services is a privately owned heavy civil and environmental contractor seeking experienced construction professionals to join our team. This full-time position involves performing various labor duties around the job-site, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance with regulations.

The role includes operating and assisting with equipment, studying instructions, and coordinating with crew signals.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in construction.
• Ability to attain certifications as required.
• Fit for Duty.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; calling for repairs.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
• Prepares work by studying and clarifying instructions and diagrams; calculating requirements; gathering supplies.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, position or move loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members
• Safely move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials using articulated dump trucks.
• Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• This position is also responsible for tasks involving physical labor at construction sites and assisting other workers
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
• They may also clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble other waste materials
• Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools while distributing them to the appropriate locations
