Sequoia Services is seeking a full-time construction laborer to perform a range of duties around the job-site. The role emphasizes safety and efficient site operations while supporting other workers on projects in diverse industries.

Primary responsibilities include maintaining a safe work environment, assisting with material handling, and performing tasks that require physical labor at construction sites. On-the-job training and certifications may be provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; calling for repairs.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
• Prepares work by studying and clarifying instructions and diagrams; calculating requirements; gathering supplies.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, position or move loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members
• Safely move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials using articulated dump trucks.
• Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• This position is also responsible for tasks involving physical labor at construction sites and assisting other workers
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
• They may also clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble other waste materials
• Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools while distributing them to the appropriate locations

Employees may operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones with appropriate training provided.
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials with appropriate training provided.
