Job Summary:
A Construction Laborer is responsible for general laborer duties on construction sites. They may prepare sites by cleaning, loading, unloading materials, digging trenches, compacting earth, and removing hazards. Construction Laborers are essential to highway construction, utility construction, and environmental remediation.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards.
- Use various equipment, hand, and power tools.
- Proficient in the safe and efficient use of layout and measurement tools.
- Measure and mark pipes for cutting.
- Load and unload construction materials, pipes, and equipment.
- Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel using appropriate tools.
- Excavate and prepare ground trenches for pipes and utility lines.
- Use chains, slings, or guide wires to position pipes, trench boxes, and shoring systems.
- Assist with guiding pipes and shoring devices into place.
- Join, wrap, seal, and bed underground pipe sections.
- Remove, fill, and compact earth.
- Assist with establishing alignment and grade using stakes and lasers.
- Coordinate excavation activities as directed.
- Signal equipment operators for machinery alignment and movement.
- Work safely around heavy equipment and personnel.
- Produce high-quality work safely and efficiently.
- Assist all craft workers.
- Perform site clean-up.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Move between jobs as projects progress.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education or work credentials from secondary or post-secondary education (e.g., Precision Exams, NOCTE).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Willingness to learn from others.
- Strong sense of personal responsibility.
- Focus on safety near heavy equipment and utilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (CDL preferred).
- Legal to work in Idaho.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to work long hours, including night, weekend, and outside hours.
- Ability to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, with exposure to noise, vibrations, and hazards.
- Perform physical labor and strenuous tasks.
