Job summary

Jans Corporation is hiring a Construction Laborer to support our field crews on commercial construction projects throughout the Sioux Falls area. This hands-on role keeps job sites clean, organized, and moving forward, with opportunities to assist carpenters, labor crews, and other trades on daily tasks.

You’ll work outdoors in changing weather, follow safety rules, and contribute to a team that values hard work, reliability, and growth. Prior construction experience helps but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe.
• Load, unload, move and stage materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist carpenters, labor crews, and other trades with daily project needs.
• Help with demolition, light carpentry, setup, and general labor tasks; operate basic tools.
• Follow safety requirements and report hazards promptly.
• Care for tools and equipment to keep them ready for the next task.

What You’ll Do

• Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe.
• Load, unload, move and stage materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist carpenters, labor crews, and other trades with daily project needs.
• Help with demolition, light carpentry, setup, and general labor tasks.Operate hand and power tools appropriate to the work being performed.
• Follow safety requirements and report hazards or concerns promptly.
• Care for company tools and equipment so they are ready for the next task.

Preferred, But Not Required

• Experience with commercial construction, demolition, light carpentry, or basic construction tools.
• OSHA 10 or other safety training.
• Experience operating telehandlers, forklifts, skid steers, or similar equipment.
