Job summary

Blue Streak LLC 1 in Kansas City, Kansas is seeking a Skilled Laborer to perform general labor tasks for our underground construction of Fiber Optic systems. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, ensuring site safety, and assisting the Machine Operator.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of underground construction experience, can lift at least 75 lbs., and has a valid driver’s license. Candidates should be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in underground construction preferred.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport, and unload materials on to the job site.
• Ensure site is compliant with safety regulations.
• Shovel dirt to assist Machine Operator and dig holes.
• Perform small concrete/asphalt repairs.
• Keep the workspace clear of debris.

Full Job Description

• Load, transport and unload materials on to the job site
• Ensure site is set up correctly and in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines
• Shovel dirt to prepare and assist Machine Operator to lay conduit
• Dig holes/trenches
• Perform small concrete/Asphalt repairs
• Spot digging existing utilities
• Ensure the workspace is clear of debris
• Assist Foreman in completing paperwork

Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ year of experience in underground construction preferred
• Operate mini x
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced and quickly changing environment
• Ability to work on call including evenings and weekends as needed
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen rejected; continue list
• Valid driver's license required
