Job summary

ForceSource is seeking a Construction Laborer in Des Moines, IA to support renovation and restoration projects. You’ll prepare work areas, handle materials, and assist skilled trades, using hand and power tools and following plans to ensure work is done safely and to specification.

This role may involve heavy lifting across concrete, carpentry, masonry, and related tasks, with emphasis on teamwork and strict safety adherence on active construction sites in the Des Moines area.

Qualifications

• Construction experience or construction site experience; experience working on construction projects is preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge and ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with concrete work, formwork, rebar, carpentry, or related construction tasks is an asset; construction estimating knowledge is also welcome.
• Able to perform physical work, including heavy lifting, and adhere to site safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sites and materials; assist with formwork construction, concrete forming, rebar installation, concrete mixing, pouring, pumping, cutting, and finishing.
• Support frame and trim carpentry, metal stud framing, roofing, flooring installation, masonry, plastering, stucco, and caulking as project needs require.
• Read blueprints, interpret blueprint specifications and technical drawings, and follow construction plans.
• Operate hand and power tools, including concrete mixers, and maintain an orderly work area.
