Job summary

Landmark Properties is seeking a Summer Construction Intern to assist the project management team in planning, budgeting, and closeout across field sites including Storrs, CT. The internship runs June 1, 2027 through August 6, 2027 and may involve on-site assignments in CT and PA.

You will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents, learn Landmark processes, and help maintain documentation, logs, and progress photos to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science or Architecture preferred.
• 1+ year of applicable coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Project Superintendents in planning, buyout, management, and closeout.
• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, and change requests to support schedule and budget.
• Maintain logs (RFI, change requests) and prepare weekly meeting minutes.
• Assist with site documentation and progress photos; support final closeout.
• Support project team in documenting safety and quality procedures.
• Participate in team meetings and maintain professionalism.

Job Description

Construction Interns will assist Project Managers and Project Superintendents in project planning, buyout, project management, and closeout. This role will involve assisting in obtaining, coordinating and distributing the information and authorizations required to construct the project on time, within budget and to the Landmark’s quality standards.

The Summer Construction Internship program will run from June 1, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Possible onsite locations include State College, PA and Storrs, CT. Please note these locations are subject to change.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The duties listed below are an outline of the role’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.

• Construction Interns will learn about:
  • Landmark processes and procedures as they relate to managing the project.
  • Landmark safety and quality management programs and ensure contractor compliance.
  • Managing the project budget by controlling expenditures, coordinating billings, and identifying work not covered by subcontractor.
  • How to maintain RFI logs and change request log.
• Construction interns will assist with:
  • Ensuring the overall success of costs and schedule.
  • Reviewing and processing submittal data and shop drawings.
  • Coordinating submittals, RFI’s, deliveries and inspections, along with analyzing how they affect the project schedule.
  • Completing daily logs, status reports and weekly subcontractor meeting minutes.
  • Change requests, change proposals for price reviews.
  • Documenting and taking progress photos of job site.
  • Resolving punch-list issues prior to occupancy.
  • Obtaining occupancy of the project.
  • Maintaining closeout log and obtaining all closeout documents, warranties and log information.
  • Obtaining Certificate of Substantial Completion.
  • Assembling and preparing final record documents for the project at the conclusion of the job and store them in a secure location.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Maintain the highest possible professionalism at all times and promote good relations and communications on the project.
• Recognize, report, and solve problems in a creative, positive, constructive way and make recommendations for improvements in systems, procedures, and policies.

Education & Experience

• Seeking a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science or Architecture preferred.
• 1+ year of applicable coursework.

The pay for this position is $21.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on a variety of factors including market factors in the geographical location where the candidate lives.
