Job summary

Lane Construction is seeking ambitious, motivated, and career-focused Construction Interns to join our team and support a highway construction project in South Carolina.

As an intern you will work with project teams in both field and office environments, gaining hands-on experience and developing technical and leadership skills. You will learn software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Primavera while contributing to meaningful projects on a major highway build.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong interest in heavy civil construction and infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in both office and field settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement activities.
• Support survey and layout operations.
• Assist project safety professionals with safety-related initiatives and documentation.
• Read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
• Draft and prepare project submittals.
• Support foremen and superintendents with daily field operations.
• Work onsite with construction crews to gain practical experience.
• Learn and use industry-leading software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Primavera.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do
