Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Chicago is offering an Internship/Co-Op for Summer 2027. Enrolled students pursuing engineering, architecture, construction management, or related fields will gain foundational knowledge on a real project site under supervision.

Participants will assist with meeting coordination, document control, RFIs, and estimates while learning safety protocols, teamwork, and practical construction management skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university degree or Co-op program with at least 1 year completed.
• Must be 18 years old to work on a construction site.
• Desire to learn construction management and the construction industry.
• Commitment to standard business hours and possible overtime.
• Demonstrate leadership, volunteerism, or community involvement.
• Clear verbal and written English communication.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Proactive, curious, and eager to learn.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day supervised activities on an active construction project site.
• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting.
• Follow site signage and supervisor instructions; learn construction management basics.
• Relate academic knowledge to work activities and build professional relationships.
• Participate in training, meetings, and safety orientation.
• Assist with project start-up, RFIs, submittals, and contract information distribution.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and learning project details.
