Job summary

HPM is recruiting qualified applicants for our Internship Program who are studying civil engineering, construction engineering or building/construction sciences for the Summer 2027 term. This internship provides exposure to estimating, project management, and field operations.

Interns gain hands-on experience with the construction process, quantity takeoff/estimating, submittals, and project documentation. Strong communication and a valid driver's license are required for consideration and

Qualifications

Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building Science
Maintains a 2.5 GPA or higher
Ability to work 40 hours per week during spring semester
Completed college freshman year
Desire to pursue a career in construction after graduation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

Gaining understanding of the construction process
Participating in quantity takeoff/quantity estimating
Working with the submittal process: maintaining logs, reviewing and approving shop drawings and submittals
Preparing transmittals for distribution for project documentation
Assisting in jobsite setup, permitting, and closeout
