Job summary

F.E. Moran Group of Companies seeks an Associate General Counsel to oversee contracting, regulatory issues, and construction, insurance, safety, and employment-related legal matters.

The role reports to the General Counsel and requires experience with construction-related incidents and project documentation. The candidate will negotiate contracts, develop a contract management process, supervise outside counsel, coordinate insurance matters, and advise on complex legal issues.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree with license in good standing to practice in Illinois.
• 4+ years of progressive experience directly related to construction, labor and insurance law.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate construction-related agreements.
• Develop and coordinate a contract management process.
• Review, monitor, evaluate and resolve all Company insurance claims.
• Coordinate with insurance brokers/companies on contractual legal and insurance issues and advise Company personnel.
• Coordinate with and supervise outside counsel on various litigation matters.
• Address, negotiate and document business and construction transactions and other legal matters.
• Travel to Chicago and surrounding suburbs as required, and work beyond standard hours when needed.
