Job description

ATCS's Construction Services group is expanding in Pennsylvania! We are seeking individuals with PA construction management and inspection experience.

We welcome candidates with varying levels of experience, including Inspectors, Trainees, and Senior Inspectors, to join our team in Harrisburg, PA, and surrounding areas.

Duties:
  1. Perform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities projects.
  2. Write daily progress reports.
  3. Oversee contractor work crews to ensure compliance with contract documents, interpret these documents to verify safe construction practices, and ensure quality results.
  4. Perform field tests on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA).
  5. Document materials, labor compliance, safety, estimates, work orders, and adjustments.
  6. Report on-site activities and daily progress to the Project Engineer, including calculation and determination of pay quantities.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Recent graduates with degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields will be considered. Candidates with 4+ years of heavy highway experience or 2+ years of transportation construction inspection experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • At least 2 years of experience in construction, civil engineering, project management, or materials inspection.
  • Knowledge of PennDOT Road & Bridges specifications and standards.
  • Proficiency in mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Skill in using field engineering and testing equipment, inspection methods, and materials.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain certifications within 12 months, such as PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NICET Level 2-4 in Transportation & Highway Construction, OSHA 10 Hour Safety, PennDOT NECEPT, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician, and PennDOT Flagger Training or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Proficiency in Site Manager or other project management software.

We offer a competitive salary range of $21.43 to $36.82 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, along with an annual bonus target of 2%.
