As we expand our client and project portfolio in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area, we are seeking experienced construction professionals to inspect Water / Wastewater projects throughout the region.

FOXXSTEM is actively seeking a motivated, experienced, and team-oriented Utility Inspector with Water/Wastewater experience to be based in the Washington, DC area. The inspector will oversee quality inspection programs and ensure compliance with company and customer requirements, verifying that all contract documents, drawings, and specifications are properly executed.

Projects may include water system master plans, hydraulic modeling, water audits, water quality studies, disinfection, water treatment plant and pump station design, water main replacement, water vulnerability assessments, emergency response, and Safe Drinking Water Program audits. Additionally, projects may involve water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer overflow facilities, pipelines, manholes, pump stations, and distribution mains.

Responsibilities
  • Work under general or minimal supervision of a Construction Manager.
  • Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements through inspection duties.
  • Conduct daily field inspections, document activities, and maintain records.
  • Assist in preparing punch lists, conducting field testing, and commissioning.
  • Track quality assurance progress.
  • Contribute to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
  • Review and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Resolve field issues collaboratively with design engineers and operations staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree and 1-5 years of experience inspecting water, wastewater, treatment, pipelines, pump stations, and reservoirs, or demonstrated equivalent experience/education.
  • Experience with water and sewer conveyance and treatment projects.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Records review.
Additional Requirements:
  • Familiarity with document management systems such as Unifier.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • EIT certification is desirable.
