Seeking a new career challenge? Woolpert is hiring a Construction Inspector - VDOT Certified to join our Infrastructure team at our Virginia Beach, Virginia office. This role reports to the Discipline Leader and involves ensuring projects are constructed according to contract documents and specifications. Qualified candidates will have VDOT inspection experience with relevant certifications. Responsibilities include onsite inspections, materials testing, reviewing plans, and documenting findings to ensure quality and safety standards are met, while completing projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection and management duties.
• Work independently and with teams, applying Woolpert procedures.
• Conduct quality assurance testing for material compliance.
• Manage and inspect construction projects for VDOT compliance.
• Review and interpret construction documents and specifications.
• Communicate with contractors and resolve project issues.
• Produce detailed reports.

Qualifications

• VDOT inspection experience with relevant certifications.
• Construction management degree or 3+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in Sitemanager/AASHTOWare, MS Office, Word, Excel.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, soil analysis, and testing.
• Ability to write detailed reports and track quantities.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Material Testing Certification or ability to obtain.
• Daily travel required.
• Ability to traverse sites safely and operate standard office equipment.
