Job Overview

We have immediate openings for Construction Inspectors in Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Pinehurst, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem, NC, within our Transportation & Infrastructure division. The role involves supporting current staff and helping expand our Construction Management and CEI practice across the state. This position offers opportunities to learn construction inspection principles, obtain certifications, and participate in major transportation projects, all while promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection activities and assist in highway and bridge construction project administration.
• Apply safety protocols and work safely outdoors.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
• Establish engineering controls and inspect work.
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Conduct on-site material testing and sampling.
• Measure and document completed work.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Communicate effectively with project staff and clients.
• Utilize basic computer and tablet skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, work outdoors in all weather, and traverse rough terrain.
• No prior construction inspection experience required.
• Ability to acquire NCDOT certifications within 6 months, including: NCDOT/ACI Concrete Field Tech Grade I, QMS Asphalt Roadway Tech, Erosion & Sediment Control Level II, among others.

Compensation

$47,102.00 - $62,803.00 annually.
