The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is looking for a Construction Inspector Supervisor in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role includes supervising inspectors on public works projects and ensuring adherence to compliance, specifications, and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, relevant university training or a degree in architecture or construction technology, and extensive experience in the field. Knowledge of various construction processes is essential.
Under general supervision, this position supervises Construction Inspectors working on public works construction projects to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, applicable codes and safety regulations, and monitor daily construction activities and overall progress.
Engineering construction inspection responsibilities include earthwork and paving, roadway renovation and improvement, water supply and sewer collection pipeline, concrete, protective coating, pile driving, drilled pier, track improvements, power distribution and transmission systems, electrical overhead contact systems, streetlights, traffic signals, roadway striping, signal, control and data acquisition systems, radio and telecommunications systems (including fiber optic networks), power substations, ADA retrofits and facilities, building renovation and improvements, operating equipment, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, electrical and mechanical work, landscaping and irrigation work, and related work as required.

Additional related experience may be substituted for the required training on a year‑for‑year basis.
Applicants hired into this job classification between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2027 are exempted from the requirement to reside in Orleans Parish.
The position is evaluated on a 100% training and experience rating. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit will only be given for experience gained within the last ten years.
