What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate and perform construction inspections verifying contractor activities comply with contracts, specifications, and engineering principles.
  • Inspect routine construction items such as asphalt or concrete paving, grading, small bridges, and utility adjustments.
  • Perform measurements, computations, and prepare final plans, change orders, and payment estimates.
  • Maintain construction documentation, records, and reports; inform supervisors of activities or issues.
  • Provide field checks for surveying operations; serve as party chief or instrument operator on critical structures.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.
  • Completion of a work simulation and medical-physical exam.

·Entry salary- $65,335.68

·Intermediate salary- $70,562.40

·Senior salary- $76,207.20

OR

Minimum Qualifications - Non-ABET

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, OR
  • 8 years of construction inspecting or related experience.
  • Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.
  • Completion of a work simulation and medical-physical exam.

Candidates will be considered for entry, intermediate, or senior levels based on qualifications.

·Entry salary- $57,762.48

·Intermediate salary- $62,383.68

·Senior salary- $68,803.68

Note for internal applicants: Successful candidates already earning above the posted salary will be evaluated individually for final salary determination.

  • Exposure to hazards, safety risks, and environmental conditions.
  • May involve operation of vehicles for snow plowing and ice control.
