M&J Engineering, P.C. is seeking a qualifiedNighttime Paving Inspectorwith NETTCP HMA Paving Certification to support ongoing roadway construction projects in East Windsor, CT. This field-based role is essential for ensuring quality assurance and compliance during nighttime paving operations under CTDOT oversight.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and approve paving operations during nighttime shifts to ensure compliance with CTDOT specifications and NETTCP standards.
- Monitor contractor activities including material placement, compaction, and temperature control.
- Document daily work progress, inspection findings, and non-conformance issues.
- Perform field measurements and verify pay quantities.
- Coordinate with Resident Engineers, contractors, and utility representatives to resolve field issues.
- Ensure adherence to traffic control, environmental, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- NETTCP HMA Paving Certification (must be valid and recognized by CTDOT)
- Minimum 2 years of field inspection experience on civil construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to work night shifts and in varied weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Experience with CTDOT projects or local municipal roadway work
- Familiarity with AASHTOWare and COMPASS systems
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health certification
- Additional NETTCP certifications (Concrete, Soils & Aggregate)
