Position Details

• Location: Any Pennoni Maryland office (Baltimore, Frederick, Salisbury)

Responsibilities

• Work on-site at construction locations as a Construction Inspector for highway/public works projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and perform calculations based on field measurements.
• Test materials such as soils, concrete, and asphalt as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, owners, and the public.
• Prepare detailed daily reports with photographs and sketches.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions, near heavy equipment, and within highway zones.
• Be available for overtime, night, and weekend work as required.

Licenses and Certifications

• Must obtain and maintain certifications such as OSHA 10 Hour Safety, MDE Responsible Personnel “White Card”, MDOT SHA Erosion & Sediment Control “Yellow Card”, ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1, MARTCP Soils and Aggregate Technician, MARTCP HMA Field Technician, MARTCP Pavement Markings Technician, MDOT SHA Traffic Control Manager Certification, or other relevant certifications.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Required Attributes

• Tech-savvy team players with strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, Adobe/Bluebeam PDF.

Preferred Attributes

• Previous construction experience, supervisory roles, DOT experience, or holding applicable certifications such as CCM/CMIT.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly range: $20 - $30.
