Position Title: Construction Inspector

Work Location: Minot AFB (Minot, ND)

Salary: Based on experience and discussed during interview

Requirements: Must be a US Citizen and pass a federal background review and drug screen

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Observe and investigate construction phases for compliance with schedules, specifications, and shop drawings. Identify problems, recommend changes, and assess the need for contract modifications.
  2. Perform inspections and complete daily site reports in RMS, including comments on progress, work activities, safety issues, and subcontractor manpower.
  3. Assist in all phases of the contract modification process, including preparing scopes of work for RFPs, government estimates, reviewing contractor proposals, and preparing contract modifications.
  4. Review and analyze contractor plans and technical submittals for approval, including progress schedules, safety and quality programs, certifications, and shop drawings.
  5. Prepare correspondence regarding contractor performance, REAs, RFIs, and other technical issues.
  6. Prepare payment estimates, measure and compute pay item quantities, verify materials, and assess percentage completion of lump-sum items.
  7. Monitor scheduled progress and advise project team of potential delays or slippage.
  8. Participate in and execute RFI and Submittal reviews, coordinating with designers, RE, and technical experts.
  9. Maintain data logs to support project management and decision-making.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED required; construction-related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience on large, complex federal projects, with preference for Department of Defense or USACE projects.
  • Experience with RMS 3.0 is preferred.
  • Experience with three-phase inspection process.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual is preferred.
