Job summary

GRAEF is seeking a 2027 Summer Intern to join our Milwaukee team as a Construction Inspector intern. The role focuses on field inspections of roadway and utility construction and material testing, guided by trainings and mentorship.

You will complete daily construction reports and assist with other duties as needed, gaining hands-on experience in civil engineering and construction management within a 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related field.
• Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• Willingness to learn, both independently and with a team.
• Willingness to work outdoors in inclement weather as needed.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a personal vehicle to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of roadway and utility construction including sewer, water, asphalt and concrete roadways, and other construction projects.
• Perform and review material testing of asphalt, concrete and aggregates.
• Complete accurate daily construction reports, manually or electronically.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
