Position Overview:

The Construction Inspector III independently performs complex project inspections, tests, and records operations, requiring minimal supervision. The role involves interpreting plans, standards, and specifications, overseeing small teams, and working on medium to large projects, including highways, bridges, and traffic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect roadway, structural, soil, and traffic signal construction
• Ensure contract and plan compliance
• Maintain standards and specifications adherence

Qualifications:

• Field experience with NICET Level III certification or equivalent; NYSDOT experience preferred
• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or equivalent (if applicable)
• Minimum 5 years in highway construction inspection or related field
• Knowledge of NYSDOT procedures, MURK reporting, and relevant certifications (ACI, NETTCP) preferred
• Computer skills; familiarity with Site Manager or APPIA software advantageous

Compensation: $49.68 – $68.28 per hour, commensurate with experience
