Under limited supervision, utilizes blueprints, job specifications, and computer information to perform duties involving observation, recording, and inspection of outside and underground drain, water, sewer, and County building and facility construction. Keeps detailed records to ensure compliance with materials and work plans, and reports progress regularly. Responsibilities include direct contact with property owners, soil testing, mathematical and field measurements, interpreting plans and specifications, recording site conditions with video equipment, and securing the work area. Duties require alertness to safety hazards, physical dexterity, and effort. Uses Countywide and department-specific software to complete tasks. Employees work outdoors in various weather conditions and in confined underground locations, with travel between sites. Availability for after-hours operational issues, emergencies, and on-call duties is required.
Note: One year of college coursework in drafting or engineering may substitute for one year of experience. Applicants with foreign transcripts must provide degree equivalency documentation from NACES.
Maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
USD $55,320.00 - USD $74,118.00 per year.
