The City of Riverside's Public Utilities Department is seeking Construction Inspector I or II - Electric to join the Electric Operations Division. One vacancy exists; the eligibility list may be used for current and upcoming openings for up to six months.
Construction Inspector I inspects public works and electric line projects to ensure conformance with plans, specs, and regulations, while Inspector II handles broader scope and compliance across multiple project types.
The City of Riverside, Public Utilities Department is accepting applications for the position of Construction Inspector I or II - Electric (depending on experience) to fill one (1) vacancy in the Electric Operations Division. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.
The Construction Inspector I checks, evaluates, and inspects workmanship and materials on a variety of public works water, sewer, street, and storm drain or electric and water utility construction projects ensuring conformance with plans, specifications, and departmental regulations.
The Construction Inspector II checks, evaluates, and inspects workmanship and materials on a variety of public works or utility construction projects for conformance with plans, specifications and departmental regulations.
Pay Ranges (Tier 2/3): Construction Inspector I: $37.83/hr - $45.98/hr; Construction Inspector II: $45.12/hr - $54.85/hr

Qualifications for Construction Inspector I: Education: High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED). Experience: Two years of experience performing construction inspections.
Qualifications for Construction Inspector II: Education: High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED). Experience: Three years of experience performing construction inspections for residential, commercial, or industrial properties.
Licenses and Certifications: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class “C” California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

Educational requirements: Proof of education listed in your application will be requested at the time of conditional offer.
