We are seeking dependable Construction Inspector I and II to join our Infrastructure team in Tyler, TX. Under supervision, inspectors ensure compliance with TxDOT construction projects, reviewing plans, specifications, and conducting field tests. Responsibilities include:

• Inspect TxDOT projects for compliance with plans, specifications, and quality procedures.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports daily.
• Review project plans and drawings prior to inspection duties.
• Perform field tests on materials using calibrated equipment per AASHTO, ASTM standards.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations and interpret data.
• Maintain safety, documentation, and equipment standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors regarding priorities and progress.
• Maintain certifications and participate in safety programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability requirements.

Construction Inspector II Additional Requirements:

• Five years’ roadway construction inspection experience or NICET Level I certification.

Additional certifications such as ACI Level 1, nuclear gauge safety, and TTCP are preferred. Experience and education may substitute for certifications with approval. Knowledge of traffic control standards, good communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required. Self-motivation, good attendance, and ability to work independently are essential.

Physical activities include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 70 pounds, and working in environments with noise, dust, and chemicals. Travel to project sites and working irregular hours may be necessary.
