General Responsibilities:

Perform daily inspections of construction projects, monitoring quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings, and project specifications. Inspections may span multiple disciplines or focus on specific areas such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, etc. This includes visual/physical inspections and field testing to verify compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare inspection reports and document observations and testing results. Communicate findings to engineers or project managers and collaborate with the project team on resolving potential issues. Adhere to strict safety standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed, following training and procedures.
2. Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
3. Document findings and results clearly.
4. Analyze data for accuracy before reporting to the Project Manager.
5. Communicate information to the Project Manager and team as directed.
6. Draft inspection reports for review by senior inspectors or Project Managers.
7. Assist senior inspectors on projects as needed.
8. Maintain equipment and calibration.
9. Follow safety rules and report safety issues or concerns.
10. Maintain quality standards on all projects.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology preferred.
• 2-4 years’ experience as an Engineering Technician or similar role.
• 1 year experience in construction inspection preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Required Certifications:

• Completion of internal safety certifications.
• Certifications in areas such as NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical, ICC certifications, AWS CWI, ASNT Level II, or ACI certifications, among others, depending on specific testing and inspection roles.
• Radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation certifications if applicable.
