Job summary

UNICO Engineering is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector for Santa Barbara and Ventura County. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of applicable experience, particularly in infrastructure such as roadways and bridges, and possess a thorough understanding of plans and specifications.

Your responsibilities will include providing daily inspections, coordinating with project team members, and ensuring compliance with project documents. The position offers competitive salary and benefits in a fun and flexible work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience for transportation, structures and utility projects.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a construction inspector's capacity.
• College education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily inspections and complete documentation including daily reports.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and others involved with the project.
• Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Inspect road and bridge construction as per Caltrans standards.

Skills

Excellent communication skills

Working knowledge of MS Office Suite

Thorough understanding of CAL OSHA practices

Bridge construction inspection experience

Knowledge of Caltrans procedures and standards

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
