Urban Engineers in Hartford, CT seeks a Construction Inspector to join the Construction Inspection Department. You will inspect CTDOT Bridge & Highway and Rail & Facility projects across the region, ensuring work aligns with contract plans and specifications.

Requirements include a BS in Construction or Engineering or NICET TCI-II, 1+ year experience, and certifications such as ACI Level 1; CTDOT experience is a plus. This on-site role offers $36.00–$50.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Certifications such as ACI Level 1, NETTCP Inspector, ATSSA-Traffic Control Supervisor are preferred.

• Complete daily reports, quantity calculations, and construction observation reports.

Job description

Urban Engineers is seeking qualified individuals in Hartford, CT to join the Construction Inspection Department as a Construction Inspector. This position will be able to provide inspection on CTDOT Bridge & Highway and/or Rail & Facility projects throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all construction within the project limits to ensure that the work conforms to the requirements of the Contract plans and specifications.
• Monitor and document all work performed by the Contractor, subcontractors, public utility companies, railroads, governmental agencies, and other entities.
• Interface with the various inspections staff, Client and Contractors on all facets of the project.
• Perform daily construction inspection of work activities.
• Complete daily reports, quantity calculations, and reports for construction work observed.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Construction or Engineering field
  • and/or NICET-certified in Transportation Construction Inspection Level 2 (TCI-II) or higher
• 1+ years of experience as a construction inspector required.
• Certifications highly preferred: ACI level 1, NETTCP Concrete Inspector, NETTCP HMA Paving Inspector, and ATSSA-Traffic Control Supervisor.
• Experience working on CTDOT Highway & Bridge and/or Rail & Facility projects preferred.
