Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) District 07 is recruiting for a Construction Inspector position. The overall function of this position is to assist Professional Engineers and/or higher-level Construction Inspectors in the performance of construction inspection work and general contract administration duties required of a District Project Engineer’s Construction Office. Specialized areas of responsibility include Portland Cement Concrete Inspection, Superpave Asphaltic Concrete Pavement Inspection, Embankment and Base Course Inspection, Structural Concrete Inspection and Subsurface Drainage Installation Inspection. The incumbent must be self‑motivated and be able to perform all construction contract administration and related duties with minimal supervision and be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise.

Compensation: Below is the starting hourly rate for each level. Additionally, this position receives an additional $2.00/hour Premium Pay for every hour worked.

• Construction Inspector 1 - $14.98/hourly
• Construction Inspector 2 - $17.15/hourly
• Construction Inspector 3 - $19.63/hourly
• Construction Inspector 4 - $22.47/hourly
