Delve Underground is seeking a Construction Inspector to support North American projects focused on water, wastewater, and transit construction. Qualifications

  • Ten years of recent experience in heavy construction.
  • Five years of tunnel inspection on large, complex projects.
  • First Aid and CPR training per OSHA preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and industry practices.
  • Ability to wear PPE and perform physical tasks (lifting up to 40 lbs).
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook; knowledge of Visio/AutoCAD/Bluebeam preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and monitor contractor work; prepare daily inspection reports including labor, equipment and materials.
  • Review field submittals, RFIs, plan clarifications and CPM schedules.
  • Monitor material receipt inspections and off-site production activities.
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents and safety standards; promote safe work environment.
  • Use PIMS or client systems to prepare inspection reports.

Pay Rate: $90,058 - $148,162

Construction Inspector

Delve Underground is always looking for a Construction Inspectors in our North American offices. Inspectors will work at project field offices on water, wastewater, and transit construction projects. This posting is not for a specific project - available position locations will vary.

A successful candidate for this position will have experience in heavy civil construction projects, water, wastewater, and transit construction projects. Tunnel experience, including trenchless experience, is considered to be relevant and preferred.

Positions may include shift work.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and monitor construction contractor's work and prepare daily inspection reports, including labor, equipment and materials in addition to work activities. Review contractor reports.
  • Review and provide input into field related Submittals, Requests for Information, plan clarifications, geotechnical information and data, and CPM schedules.
  • Monitor the Contractor's receipt inspection of materials arriving on-site, monitors off-site production activities and/or any other construction activities in their area.
  • Monitor construction progress for compliance with Contract Documents, safety standards and agency requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while complying with applicable safety policies and procedures.
  • Utilize Agency/client Project Information Management System (PIMS) and/or other Agency/Client electronic systems for preparing Inspection Reports.

Qualifications:

  • Experience on at least two tunnel projects, including trenchless tunneling experience.
  • At least ten years of recent experience in heavy construction, with at least five years of experience in tunnel inspection of large and complex engineering/construction projects.
  • Preferred current First Aid and CPR training from a provider recognized by OSHA.
  • Knowledge of construction-related processes and industry practices.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as a respirator; meet physical demands of the position such as walking, standing, lifting up to 40 Lbs., climbing ladders, bending, squatting, and crawling in tight spaces to safely access work sites.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook. Preferred knowledge of Visio, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
